| One more, for those of you in states where the food is not taxed but other items are (shelves, emergency kits) how do I do tax on a food package that also includes a shelf? Do I tax the whole thing or not? Thank you! Diantha | |

| In Oregon there are not sales taxes on anything but we get hit in the end at tax time. Ouch. So, not charging taxes in not necessarily a good thing in states that don't charge sales tax. | |

| This question was asked on a training call. But it was never answered. I am going to put a dummy order in and see what it does. | |

| I started the dummy order yesterday, but it asked for my cc before I found out the answer and chickened out... I'm sure I can cancel before the total but the whole $999 order - just couldn't go further. | |

| I had to call in about another matter today and asked the front office. They said YES you charge sales tax on the whole package if it contains anything besides food. | |

| Good to know - makes some packages not as good of deal here in ca. Food and water package has $165 worth of non food but will have $97.50 worth of tax because of it - maybe they should rethink it! | |

| From what I understand, it depends on what state you live in. Here in GA if an item in a package is exempt from sales tax then you don't have to charge sales tax on the entire purchase. However, also here in GA all items we sell are taxed anyways so that doesn't matter so much, but it may make a difference in your state. | |

| What I have seen is that you DO TAX THE WHOLE THING! Another consultant called in to CS and asked this question. Shannon is supposed to call me tomorrow so I will try to remember to ask her! | |
